Courses in Laboratory Animal Science

PhD course in Basic Laboratory Animal Science (J. no. 100).

Two PhD courses in basic laboratory animal science are held annually at the Department of Biomedicine.

This is an EU directive AD course (the EU Directive), which gives participants who have passed the course authorization to perform animal experiments under another person's permission. The course is a prerequisite for gaining access to the Institute's animal facilities.

The courses are held in week 2 (January) and week 41 (October) and duration is a week (40 hours).

PhD course in Advanced Laboratory Animal Science (J. no. 116).

An annual advanced laboratory animal science course is held at the Department of Biomedicine.

This is a course that gives participants who have passed this course as well as the basic course (see above) authorization to independently plan and perform animal experiments after obtaining permission for carrying out animal experiments from the Animal Experiments Inspectorate under the Ministry for Environment and Food (see Bekendtgørelse om dyreforsøg). This course is an EU Directive ABD course (the EU Directive) and is aimed at researchers who will work with rodents as experimental animals.

The course is held in week 9 (February/March) and duration is a week (40 hours).

Elective course for Molecular Medicine students.

This course is an elective course for molecular medicine students. The course is held in the first part of the spring semester (February-March) and is concluded with a written exam. The course is an EU directive AD course (the EU Directive) that gives participants who have passed the course authorization to perform animal experiments under another person's permission. The course is a prerequisite for access to the Institute's animal facilities.
